ADEGAS GUIMARO, PEDRO RODRIGUEZ, Ríbeira Sacra

The Guimaro family own 14ha and lease a further 11ha in the Amandi area of the Ribeira Sacra region. Prior to the establishment of the adega in 1991 Pedro’s family produced small quantities of wine for their own consumption and sold their wine in garrafones (20L glass containers) to local cantinas. The vineyards are farmed organically whilst vinification uses wild yeast fermentations, foot treading and low sulphur usage, in general handling of the grapes and production is deliberately and meaningfully ‘old-fashioned’.
