Domaine Marcel Lapierre

Domaine Lapierre’s vines have been cultivated organically since 1981 and are spread over 13ha in the Villié-Morgon area of Beaujolais.  Today, this family estate is run by Camille and Mathieu Lapierre who took over operations with the passing of their father, Marcel.  Work in the vineyards continues to respect ancient methods to reveal the unique terroir of the area; chemical fertilizers and synthetic products are eschewed in favour of compost, ploughing the vines and non-aggressive treatments to preserve the natural yeast living on the skins of the grapes. In the cellar fermentation occurs spontaneously due to the presence of these natural yeasts and without the addition of sulphur. The wines are bottled unfiltered and with a small addition of sulphur to stabilise the wine.
