Meet the French and Italian Growers at The Real Wine Fair 2019
The natural wine of France and Italy are always a major feature of the Real Wine Fair. We’re particularly pleased to announce a healthy portion of debutantes this year. First-timers include Gilles and Geneviève from Domaine Les Hautes Terres in Limoux; Luc Guénard of Château Valcombe (Ventoux); Domaine de l’Achillée (Alsace); Domaine St Pierre’s Fabrice Dodane (Jura) and Les Vignes de Paradis (brilliant biodynamic wines from Savoie). Returning, after an absence of a few years, will be Tom Lubbe (Domaine Matassa), Alice & Olivier De Moor and Dominique Hauvette.
Italy’s diversity will be revealed, with growers from fourteen regions, stretching from Sicily to Piedmont. Antonino Caravaglio will be pouring his unusual amphora wines from Salina in the Aeolian Islands. Other Sicilian highlights will be provided by Etna newcomer, Davide Bentivegna (Etnella); Etna veteran and originator of the natural wine movement in the region Salvo Foti (I Vigneri); Anna Martens & Eric Narioo representing Vino di Anna; Arianna Occhipinti and Marco de Bartoli.
We’re delighted to welcome back Alfonso Arpina from Monte de Grazia with their wonderful old-vines red from local grape Tintore di Tramonti and Pasquale Petrera from Fatalone (fine expression of Primitivo), a progressive organic estate in Puglia.
Foradori will be back with their definitive Teroldegos; fair-veteran Elena Pantaleoni (La Stoppa) will be present also, as will Piedmontese quartet of Cantina Iuli, Ferdinando Principiano, Cavallotto and Cascina degli Ulivi (Bellotti).
We are thrilled to have such a far-reaching cross-section of growers from both France and Italy. With well over forty regions and sub-regions represented across the two countries, the 2019 Real Wine Fair will offer, we hope, a broad and comprehensive taste of the thriving natural wine scenes in these historically vinous countries.
These are just some of the growers who will be present this year. Full details of producers who will be present can be found here.
