DOMAINE LES VIGNES DE PARADIS, Haute-Savoie – Biodynamic
Dominique Lucas was born and brought up in the Burgundy region where his family has owned vines in various parcels all around Pommard, and where five generations of the Lucas family have produced wine.
Lucas decided to start his own project in 2008 when he took over this 12 Ha plot in Ballaison near Thonon-les-Bains, in Haute-Savoie. The vineyards, which are located at an altitude of 420-520m, are on west facing slopes of molasse (sandstone and shale) and clay. They are managed biodynamically and vinification takes place in cement egg tanks, terracotta amphorae, demi-muids and pyramid shaped tanks. The conditions combine perfectly to obtain wines of great aromatic density and unique finesse.
