The Retief family has been running Pearl Mountain since 1873, and in 2016 started farming organically with the intention of trying to farm alongside nature and to start making wines that reflect the obvious changes that we noticed in the health of the farm environment in general. David wanted to start making wines in the natural style reflective of the land they were grown on.
