AZIENDA AGRICOLA MONTE DALL’ ORA, CARLO VENTURINI & ALESANDRA ZANTEDESHI, SAN PIETRO IN CARIANO, Veneto – Biodynamic

When Carlo Venturini and Alesandra Zantedeschi discovered the land where they founded Monte Dall’Ora (“Ora” is the wind that comes in the afternoon from north to south) it was love at first sight.  It’s situated in Valpolicella classico area where they now grow 12 hectares of land in special terroirs.  As the children of farmers, they had inherited the tenacity to work and to love the land, a love that led them to practice biodynamic agriculture.  Biodiversity is encouraged by planting herbs such as rosemary and lavender in the summer to attract bees and sowing cereals in the winter whose roots move and aerate the soil.  Additionally they have grown once-forgotten varieties of grapes wherever possible with the aim of creating healthy and genuine wines that express their terroir and vintage.  Today, sons Saverio and Stefano have joined their fathers to add their passion and hard work in Monte dall’Ora.
