Marie & Matthieu Lapierre
Domaine Lapierre’s vines have been cultivated organically since 1981 and are spread over 13ha in the Ville-Morgon area of Beaujolais. Work in the vineyards respects ancient methods to reveal the unique terroir of the area; chemical fertilizers and synthetic products are eschewed in favour of compost, ploughing the vines and non-aggressive treatments to preserve the natural yeast living on the skins of the grapes. In the cellar fermentation occurs spontaneously due to the presence of these natural yeasts and without the addition of sulphur. The wines are bottled unfiltered and with a small addition of sulphur to stabilise the wine.
