AWM – Austrian Wine Mafia, Kamptal
The AWM brand is a collaboration of three winemakers supporting the community between winegrowers. Based in the Kamptal valley, one of Austria´s coolest winegrowing region, mainly Grüner Veltliner and Zweigelt vines are planted on loess soils.
The AWM wines are a result of bringing different philosophies together. So instead of creating a difference between the natural wine society and the classic wine society, they use the positive aspects of both approaches and create wines to bring people TOGETHER. This is how AWM (Austrian wine mafia) came into existence. The collaboration builds synergies, allowing everyone to include their strengths into the network, and replaces outdated working methods with modern and innovative approaches.
They want to give MAFIA a new meaning, which stands for family and cooperation. In the future we envision including further people to our project sharing the same principles and values. Using organic practices in the vineyards and we promote biodiversity in all our fields. The wines are produced with low intervention and with indigenous yeast and at the end of the winemaking process only minimal amounts of sulphur is added.
