NOMAD was established in 2020 by husband-and-wife duo, Kosie (South African) & Elaine (German) van der Merwe. Based in the Mosel where they farm 1 ha of Mosel steep slopes. This includes 4000 m2 of old vine Riesling, their vitiforestry site planted with resistant varieties (PIWI´s) & various trees and shrubs and some fellow land for future projects. They travel back home to South Africa every year for harvest, where they buy cool climate grapes from mates that are farming organic and support them on their journey.
