Fatalone, Az. Agr. Pasquale Petrera
An historical 5th-generation small family winery situated on a rocky hilltop 385m a.s.l. to the South of Gioia del Colle in the middle of Puglia, Southern Italy. Fatalone was the first winery in 1987 to bottle the Gioia del Colle D.O.C. Primitivo as a single grape variety. A founding member of the Consortium for the Protection of the Wines D.O.C. Gioia del Colle, wine production is carried out using just their own locally grown autochthonous grapes Primitivo and Greco. Production is 100% sustainable; without the use of irrigation and zero CO2 emission, powered only by solar energy. They have a zero-Km production processing only their own grapes which are located all around the cellar. Wines are aged with the application of music-therapy, entirely bottled and certified Organic by I.C.E.A. and in accordance with the American N.O.P. standards. They want their wines to be the most authentic expression of their grapes, their land and their personality. In one word, their roots.
