DOMAINE PADIÉ, Jean Philippe Padié, Calce, Roussillon – Organic
After growing up in Burgundy and studying in Montpellier, Jean-Philippe Padié found himself making wine in the tiny village Calce, Roussillon. Just 20 mins north of Perpignan, Calce is known for its strong community of natural winemakers. Jean-Philippe learnt his craft with respected Roussillon winemakers like Domain Gauby and Olivier Pithon, before buying his first land in 2003. Jean-Philippe now farms 18ha, some owned and some rented, and also buys fruit from some villages a little higher up into the hills.
