WEINGUT ANDREAS & ELISABETH TSCHEPPE, Leutschach, Styria – Biodynamic

TscheppeAndreas and Elisabeth Tscheppe started their vineyard back in 2006. The vineyards lie on terraces and are cultivated biodynamically; each plant has its place and they try to take every living thing into consideration in the belief that the vitality and complexity of the soil are the basis for expressive wines. Grapes are harvested by hand and gently processed. Vinified in oak barrels the grape juice ferments spontaneously using the natural yeast found on the grapes. The wine is stored for up to two years in barrels and usually remains unfiltered and either sulphur-free or with only a small amount added.
