Domaine Jeandauge
DOMAINE JEANDAUGE, SEBASTIEN FEZAS, Côtes de Gascogne
In 2012 Sébastien Fezas took over the family estate with the aim of re-establishing common sense and good agronomic practices. Until then the estate had been run following conventional viticultural practices, with the wines sold to large unscrupulous merchants, it took a few years of transition and some reflection to bottle the first vintage, in 2017. Today, the vineyard represents 28 hectares with a reduction project. Fallow land, agroforestry and animals are gradually being reintroduced into the farm. Predominantly clay-limestone, soils are carefully preserved, fortified, nourished and stimulated with plant cover, sheep pasture and biodynamic preparations. Work is in line with organic and biodynamic practices in order to produce free and lively wines chemical enhancement or added sulphites. With a production of around 20,000 bottles, grapes are also sourced from winegrower friends from Loire, Bordeaux and Jurançon for the rest of the production.
