Marco de Bartoli
MARCO DE BARTOLI, MARSALA, Sicilia
Marco De Bartoli is considered to be one of Sicily’s wine making pioneers for his long-standing commitment to the native Sicilian grape varieties of Grillo and Zibibbo. In the late seventies he encouraged the bond between traditional and innovative methods of working the soil and winemaking. Wines are produced from two separate estates, one in Marsala and the other on the small island of Pantelleria to the south east of Sicily. Today his children, Renato, Sebastiano and Giuseppina continue Marco’s production philosophy pursuing tradition and innovation, and always aiming for the highest quality and respect for the territory.
