Kristinus
KRISTINUS, Borbirtok, Hungary – Biodynamic
Kristinus is located on the southwestern shore of Central Europe’s largest natural lake, Balaton. The farm is home to animals, pastures, orchards, woodland and vines and began biodynamic conversion in 2018. Kristinus are passionate about promoting soil health and biodiversity in their environment. The application of ecology-islands, insect hotels and indigenous cover crops all contribute to the harvest of high-quality, healthy grapes. By fermenting a high percentage of their wines on the skin in clay vessels, the natural characteristics of the grape obtain full exposure. Autochthonous varieties Kékfrankos, Furmint and Welschriesling are the key plantings of this winery.
