DOMAINE LA GARRÈLIERE, PASCALE & FRANCOIS PLOUZEAU, Touraine – Organic

 

In the heart of the Loire Valley, Domaine de la Garrellière is located in the South-West of Touraine. François Plouzeau has worked the estate his father bought in 1973 for the past thirty years. It comprises 20 hectares of vines mainly on flint clay soil, limestone and Aeolian sands, with plantings of Sauvignon, Chenin, Chardonnay, Cabernet Franc and Gamay. Aware of the interdependence between climate, soil and vineyard, François converted to biodynamic agriculture in 1992. The aim being to promote harmony between the plant and its environment. Harvests are manual and the wines are vinified as naturally as possible.
