Chateau Plaisance lies in the village of Vacquiers in the south-eastern corner of the Fronton appellation. In 1991 Marc Penavayre followed in the footsteps of his father Louis, taking over and expanding the vineyard that had been growing vines for generations. Now covering 30 ha the vineyard is run organically without herbicides and fertilisers. Indigenous yeasts are used during vinification and wines are bottled neither fined nor filtered to ensure the wine is a true expression of the characteristics of the grape variety.
