This youth family owned estate started by István Bencze in 2011, operates 18.5 hectares of vineyards using organic and biodynamic practices. Based on the Szent György hill, in the Badacsony region on the north shore of Lake Balaton in western Hungary, it is an area recognised for its wine, with vineyards dating back to Roman times. The Bencz Családi Birtok estate’s use of organic, natural and biodynamic methods highlights the terroir and the indigenous grape varieties of the region. By spontaneous fermentation and the use of no additives they preserve the original personality of the varieties and the unique minerality of the volcanic soil.
