Fattoria San Lorenzo

Natalino Crognaletti San Lorenzo 2The company has been handed down from father to son for several generations; The current owner Natalino’s grandfather, Enrico Crognaletti, was a successful Cooper while vinifying Verdicchio at the same time, he would select the oak himself and build the barrels to make his own Verdicchio.

Nowadays his work helps us to understand how the wood is used and we can gain from this in the future. Gino Crognaletti, Natalino’s father, has spent almost his entire life selecting old clones of Verdicchio (the old vines called ‘alberate’)

His choice for low yields means that the bunches are particularly rich in minerals, to date his best fruit is found in the “Vigna delle Oche” Riserva.

Today the estate is run by Natalino Crognaletti and his mother, Vera Biondini, who work around 35 hectares of vines, spread between Montecarotto, and also in the neighbouring municipalities of Ostra, Ostra Vetere and Corinaldo.
